I have been BUSY.

Sorry for the lack of activity on the blog lately.  This semester has been my busiest semester of college yet.  I have been shooting a lot though!  I started a second job this semester at the Winona Daily News as a part time staff photographer, which has been very awesome.  I've also been working with film a lot in school, which has been a great learning experience.  Working with film has given me a new appreciation for digital i can tell you that.  I've made some of these photos just shooting for myself, some shooting for the Winona Daily News and some for school.

Mirrors.

I really like the colors on this photo and how the light was hitting the wall.  The blue came from the shade in the room and the pink light was a combination of the twilight and street light coming in from a window.  I also like the way the mirrors break up the shapes of the light.  I also like the softness from the high ISO setting (3200) and I think that added to the aesthetic of the image.  Feel free to tell me what you think, positive or negative.

I haven't had a post in a while.

I've been really busy the last few weeks with the start of a new semester and I recently started a new job, part time photographer at the Winona Daily News. These are just some photos I've taken over the last few weeks.

I shot this photo on a trip over to Rochester, MN.  It's just a little farm between Winona and Lewiston, MN.

I shot this photo out of a little whole in the screen of one of our windows.  I've shot this building before, but I really just like the way downtown looks from our windows.  Especially when the setting sun is hitting it.

This photo was shot between Rochester and Winona also and I just liked the balloon and the setting sun made it so beautiful.

I shot this photo at the same time that I shot the photo above.  I really liked the way the small tree looked with the setting sun on the other side.  Put together with the fence and tall grass around it I thought it was a good composition with some nice light.

A random portrait shoot.

If there is one person that I know is always down to take some photos it's my brother. We were just sitting at home and the light was looking pretty good for some shots in our parents barn so we went out and had a little portrait session. Enjoy.
